Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth connected with us back in January of this year. Take a few minutes to read a little bit about who Elizabeth is and her journey on how she went from being a first-time visitor to someone who is a part of our family at Generations.
I will be graduating with my degree in American Sign Language and English Interpretation this month and to finish my degree I have been interning at Washington School for the Deaf. When I found out I would be moving here the children’s minister, Eric Rice, at Journey Church in my hometown told me about a church plant, Generations, he had been a part of and it was only fifteen minutes from WSD. I had been really nervous about finding a church out here, so that felt like God giving me reassurance that I was on the right path.
One of my first weeks out here, I went to a Sunday gathering and I met Hannah and Jonathan. Hannah invited me to the Women’s group that Sunday and I’ve felt at home ever since.
Being so far from my family and friends can be really rough, but I knew if I asked anyone in the women’s group for any kind of help they’d be more than willing. They’ve taken me out to eat, make sure I have plans for the weekend, ask how I’m doing, and so much more. They’ve played such a big role in making me feel at home in Washington.
They also have helped me in my relationship with God. The group is full of so many Christ-like women that I can look up too. They’re honest about where they are in their walk and it’s been so great to see their journeys. I’ve had so many people at Generations go out of their way to make sure I felt welcome and loved. It’s been such a blessing in my time here and truly reflects what living a life with Christ looks like.
