Building the Right Foundation

Reading: Haggai 1:1-11

Devotional: The Israelites returned from exile focused on rebuilding their personal lives while neglecting God's house. How often do we mirror this pattern? We prioritize careers, homes, and comfort while our spiritual foundation crumbles. Haggai's message confronts our misplaced priorities with uncomfortable clarity. When we neglect our relationship with God, everything else suffers—not as punishment, but as natural consequence. Our lives lack the stability only He provides. Today, examine where you've been building. Are you constructing paneled houses while God's temple lies in ruins? The foundation you choose determines everything that follows. What areas of your spiritual life need rebuilding? Start there, and watch how everything else finds its proper place. What you build your life around determines whether it stands or falls.

Reflection Question: If someone examined how you spend your time and resources this week, what would they conclude is your highest priority?
